“Four Moons” is inspired by the beauty of the magnolia tree. Magnificent at both day and night, magnolia are special treat when seen in the rich light of a full moon.
“Four Moons” is the darkest shade of blue I have used in any of my work and uses the contrast of darkest night with glow of both the moon and the magnolia trees. It pairs seamlessly with some of my other dark blue pieces, such as “Sisters” and “Through Light”, but works especially well with pieces that sharply contrasts with it, such as “Moment of Silence”, “Dab of Inspiration” and “Gift of Peace”.
“Four Moons” features some of the richest deep blues found anywhere in my collection and is, therefore, most often found in bathrooms, bedrooms, and any other room with a nautical theme.
The original piece was done using an acrylic ink paint on watercolor paper. The technique is very similar to watercolor but tends to keep more vibrant hews and dries permanently to the paper.
